Award-winning journalist and Good Morning America producer Tony Morrison made headlines last August when he published a moving personal essay that shared some of his journey living with HIV — and the debilitating effects of the stigma still surrounding it. Less than a year later, Morrison has launched his own web series on +Life called Truth Be Told.

+Life is a multi-platform brand inspired by journalist Karl Schmid’s personal story of living with shame and fear around his own HIV diagnosis. In addition to Morrison's new series, +Life shares helpful resources, and informative articles, and features Schmid’s weekly interview series, Plus Talk.

“Our stories are our own, and they are our superpower,” Morrison said upon the show’s premiere. “I'm honored and excited to create this safe and brave space where incredible people with incredible stories of overcomings in life can inspire others to do the same.”

In addition to being Plus magazine’s 2021 Person of the Year, Morrison is a two-time Emmy winner as well as the recipient of a GLAAD Media Award and Radiant Health Center's 2022 Compassion Award.

In Truth Be Told, Morrison chats with celebrities, influencers, and changemakers who are “living extraordinary lives who had no other choice but to live life in their fullness.” The first season’s guest list includes HIV advocate Jake Glaser; Peloton instructor Kendall Toole; LGBTQ+ advocates Jazz and Sander Jennings; recording artist, Wrabel; author and a subject of Netflix’s Pray Away, Julie Rodgers; Good Morning America co-anchor and ABC chief meteorologist, Ginger Zee; Good Morning America weekend co-anchor & ABC news correspondent, Janai Norman; author and openly gay faith leader, Jonathan Merritt; and “Queer Eye” season six’s Angel Flores. Topics will include mental health advocacy, crisis prevention, faith, lifestyle, HIV advocacy, pop culture, and more.

Morrison added, “Thanks to the team at +Life, I have the platform but most importantly, the support to stand up against stigma and lack of knowledge surrounding HIV, to share more widely that undetectable equals untransmittable (U=U) and to empower people from all walks of life and backgrounds to live up to their fullest potential.”
