Before you even begin the research, one of the things that should hit your mind is the methodology that you will follow to achieve the desired objectives. The choice of the right Reserach Methodology is what can make or break your research project. Read on to discover the factors to consider when choosing the right research methodology.

The goal of the research

The first thing that you have to consider when choosing a research methodology is the goal of the research. In doing so, you have to look at what the research wants to accomplish as this will help you decide on the right research design. Do you want to find all information in one go or are you looking to conduct a follow-up research? If you know the kind of information that you need at the end of the research, you will be able to choose the methodology that suits your project.

If you need high-quality research that is driven by data then you should do quantitative research. If you do need the information within a short time frame, you might want to go with data collection methods that allow for data collection within a few days. In this case, a random data collection method may be preferable.

On the other hand, if you have ample time, you may opt for data collection methods such as in-person interviews that require a lot of time to implement.

Since the two data collection methods are different, it is upon the researcher to find the one that suits their needs best.
